A little bit of repaint...
I've always wanted to put "makeup" on my girls when a new outfit calls for it. I've painted Sue's lips to peachy pink last February, when really, she has pink ones that match her eyeshadows.
Then I looked around and saw Anouk, who I always find beautiful but still gives me the feeling of "there's really something wrong in that look". Her eyes sometimes make her look cross-eyed; check out these other Late Valentine pics of hers. I thought her eyes need some allure so I decided to work on them.
By the way, I only use watercolors as I like to change "makeups" from time to time. Here's one of her recent photos that feature those brown lower lids that seem to shimmer.
And some more last-minute summer pics, while summer is still around in some areas of the globe...

I added some dark brown outlines on her iris and lower lids |
Very nice photos, Shasha! The last one where you can only see a hint of one eye is smashing!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, thanks, Muff dear.. I loved that pic, too!
DeleteHello from Spain: I love the new makeup on this doll. I also really like the pictures with the hat and the drops in her body. Great job! Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteHello, Marta :) The tiny drops are actually done using an old spray bottle and some water. Thanks much!
DeleteLovely fashions ... I have been oohhing and aaahhhing over. Super talent. Super photography, too - reminds me of a fashion magazine layout. Thanks for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteYour eye paint job on Anouk improved her look.
Wow, thanks so much! The photography - I learned from research and the forums in etsy. Honestly, I think my photography has improved so much since December 2011, when I asked my fellow etsians why I only have 3 sales in my first three months (I started my shop in September 2011). Aside from SEO tweaking, it's how I present my work to the online world that really helped a lot. Thanks for checking!
DeleteShasha love the new eyes. She looks better. Your photography is awesome. I hope to add some of your creations to my list of designers I'm loving.
ReplyDeleteHey hey! Yes, she looks so much better now. Her eyes have become equally sensual with her lips :) Thanks, I'm still learning with photography and one of the greatest I got as lesson is to shoot in natural daylight :) I hope to add in new photos of my Anouk in the next few weeks :)
DeleteHi Shasha,
ReplyDeleteDeb (dbg) here -- after discovering your blog yesterday, I became a follower. Of course this was after receiving the wonderful fashions I purchased from your Etsy store, which are perfect and appear to have been mass produced by Fashion Royalty. Your work is outstanding!
I wanted to share a link to one of my blog posts which was written after I darkened the "whites" of my doll's eyes. Here's the link.

Wow, I was so sure I wasn't the only one bothered by the "too much whites" in her eyes...
DeleteAnd you got your Jungle Fever to look like iconic Grace Jones, alright! Congrats!!! This gets me to think that there may be other black doll enthusiasts out there who have done something in JF's eyes!
Thanks again, Deb!
Sha, Anouk is so pretty in her summer outfit and more because of her newly improved eyes! you're awesome! keep it up!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Belle! Anouk is firsthand adorable, but those eyes just made her even more alluring!
