Style icons Blake Lively and Olivia Palermo, Oscar gems Michelle Williams and Tina Fey, even Her Royal Highness Kate Middleton, rocked the peplum in their most recent whereabouts. Having Jason Wu and Marc Jacobs among other noted designers adorn their SS/2012 collections with peplum dresses, should be enough to convince you, eh?
On a less sensational universe, I find the peplum pretty awesome for my body. All my life, I despised this boyish frame. I’m telling you, I can blurt out the very limited fashion trends that flatter this thing in half a second! Haha! But thanks to ball skirts, empire-cut dresses, and peplums, I can dress and look like a woman when need arises. In fact, I’m concocting something peplum-y that I would wear on my friend’s wedding this month, so… But enough of me already ...
So the good news is, your doll will be channeling Spring or Summer Goddess as I plug-in outfits that will surely beat even the Duchess of Cambridge. Uh… not her of course but her dress, perhaps? So, anyway, the remaining 2nd to 4th parts of the SS/2012 Collection will be peplum-prettified you should be soooo excited right now thinking how to accessorize your dolls up, how or where to photograph them in those spring/summer 2012 must-haves!
In the mean time, since I did mention that peplums have been my BFF since I realized I wasn’t built like Rebecca Romjin, you can check out my current peplum creations.
These have already been available in my Etsy shop even before Vogue told you they will be a spring/summer hit. Peace, Vogue!
So please do check the second part this season’s AtelierniShasha collection, which will be unveiled in next few days.
‘Til then, dollies!
