Where the heart smiles in its deepest, most truthful sense...

Hi there, dollies..
Sorry to have been not quite active around here the past few weeks.
I had been doing lots of preparation and stuff, ‘cause I’m about to execute a life-altering plan.
Na, it’s nothing you should be worrying about, trust me.
It’s not that I’m worried either haha! I’m actually super excited!

Okay, so I had already handed out my official resignation letter
to my manager of 7 years.
It had been a great stint with this company.
I have learned so much and have made deep friendship
with the people I worked with.
I’d say, I’ll never look for another company to work for until…

I realized I need to focus on my passion,
where my heart smiles in the deepest, most truthful sense.
Yes, I quitted my job as a technical writer to sew miniature clothing.
Ha!

Me and my Mama, circa 85, I think...
Well, this isn’t really a sudden change of heart.
I got this all planned out for years.
Perhaps because this is really where I want to be – at home,
to take care of my family, and doing my most favorite thing in the world – creating.
Since I was a kid, all I wanted to do during off-school was draw,
make doll clothes, make my own comic strips,
hand-write my own books (I even had a few friends subscribed haha),
read anything, play with my dolls, roam around the town to ask dressmakers
for the fabric scraps, talk to carpenters and ask for yes, their wood scraps…
Perhaps, many others that relate to creating. I just love making things.

Me, celebrating my 9th.. with my drawings on the wall...
And so, I got it all set up.
At first, about 2 years ago, I had analyzed my situation.
My skills, financial status, the market, my courage,
and the shortest time that I can jump into this new profession is 5 years!
5 freaking years!
I remember sulking, just by looking at the number.
I wanted to start out right away, so bad!
But it wouldn’t be too wise.

So while I waited, I planned hard, saved like crazy and
started banishing my credit card debts like they were ebola.
I also did my tasks at the day job to the best of my ability
so that I will leave feeling accomplished for the things I have done there,
and ready to move on.

Then exactly a year ago, hubs gave me such a wonderful Christmas gift.
He realized I was really serious with achieving my goal
that he gave me a go-signal to give it a try as soon as possible.
I’m not getting any younger, he said.
It was really nice to get a blessing and support from your partner in crime,
you know, because what I am doing now makes people think I’ve gone nuts.
Nobody in his right mind, in this awful economy,
here in this less developed part of the world,
turns his back on a steady paycheck – especially if you are a parent.
But I just did. Some nut, huh? LOL

Me and my small collection when I was 11..
So, yeah. Starting January 2015, you will be seeing me around here
and at our other “meeting places” a lot.
I will be making doll clothes like I’ve never done before
and blogging about my journey here, a lot, as well.
I will be so present, you’d probably hate me haha
but I hope that’s not gonna happen, I mean the hate part.

I pledge to bring out the most pleasing creations
there is in the world of miniatures.
I commit to stay true to my passion, my goals and
I know that you will be with me along the way.
So, in this new journey of mine, I’d like to get to know more of you guys,
and hopefully “hang out” with you here for as long as
my hands can sew tiny cute things, and type into this blog.

Me in action...
I chose to be here and this is gonna be one heck of a party!!!
Chat with you real soon, dolls!

Big hugs,
shasha

    1. Oh, Phyllis dear... thank you so much from the bottom of my heart... I realized I have not mention the word "dream" in my post as I probably went too technical with all the details of the preparation and stuff --- but I guarantee you, it all started with this DREAM :) Thank you for reminding me this... HUgs and kisses!

    1. Hello there, Georgia Girl! Thank you so much for such a heartwarming message.. I totally see myself saying all these words you said to to someone who is also living for their dream :) It can be weird that you feel so happy for someone you don't know personally but it's a phenomenon, and it's just so inspirational, right? Some even make you teary-eyed :)

It should be so exciting for you to be doing it so soon; I look forward to hearing about it just the same :) Thanks again for the well wishes, dear and I hope to see you around here often.
