How to Dolly Style: Distressed Denim Shorts

Happy Friday, dollies! I hope everyone had a good week and looking forward to an exciting weekend. Things have been busy around the atelier this week with a mix of admin responsibilities, new products, strategizing my 2016 product road map, social media and sewing on some snaps. 'Still have a few more things to finish before I can chill on Sunday and I can... wait, my mom is coming over (flew over 700 miles), so I'll be picking her up from the airport that day. Oh, well... so much for the chill I was talking about because we are gonna be chatting non-stop for the entire day for sure hahaha!

Alright, on to the real deal. Last week, some of you may have already known by now that I am having a styling series of sorts every Friday. And for this week, I will be featuring one of my favorite favorite favorite items in my dolly wardrobe --- the distressed denim shorts!

Distressed Denim Shorts, definitely a closet staple.

Since I'm a gal who likes to incorporate into my designs the 70s fashion, I like my denim shorts distressed :) I love that it feels so relaxed, low-maintenance and presents that sort of rebellious part of me. I think this pair of shorts is so honest and easy to get along with. That's how I'd always aspire to be as a person, and I like people who are as real as a pair of distressed denim shorts.

LOL, what an explanation to support my adoration for this staple closet piece, but I can't help it. I love pairing it with tees, tanks, girly tops and who knows what. It's so comfy and sexy at the same time, at least to me.

Now let's see how our fellow doll collectors like to style their distressed denim shorts.

Mac and Melan like to pair it with tees.. perfect for a weekend nature stroll...
.. while the beautiful dolls over at Michaela and Estela hangs out with their doll pals in their cozy pairs.

And despite it denoting a relaxed vibe, this pair of denim shorts can still be go perfectly with lady-like tops. Check how Cecile, Michaela and Jesus assemble an outfit that is an interesting mix of rugged and pretty :)

Cecile's dolly here is exploring young love with the help of her lovely crochet top :)

Michaela's Audrey is so in style on a holiday...

Twyla loves her distressed denim shorts with a dainty white silk top :)

And look at these uber chic ladies of Jesus hitting the streets like fashion bloggers!

And of course, last but not the least, the distressed denim's perfect soul-mate? (at least to me, an island girl who sees the hot sun almost all year round and often sweats buckets...) ... the tank top!

Melan's It girl here is off to the city :)

Michaela's Loni is braving the jungle in those hot hot shorts!

And Twyla strolls by the beach in the most comfy ensemble...

So as you can see, this pair of amazing shorts can be worn almost anywhere with almost any top that you can easily find in your closet! Whether your dolly is lounging at the comforts of her own living room, hanging out with friends, having a date, on a fabulous vacation, enjoying nature or even the city, this staple closet item can always give some sense of comfort and style.

What do you guys think? I know there are hundreds, even thousands, of options styling this wardrobe unsung hero, but for now, I hope you enjoy my little presentation :)

Let's chat as it would be awesome if you can share how you style your distressed denim, whether you are wearing it, or your dollies!

Is it lazy if I admit that I love that "pre-distressed" denim exists? LOL. ;)
