atelierniSHASHA 10th Anniversary Giveaway - 10-hour Coaching on Doll Clothes Making

Hello again, my dollings...

As I have mentioned in my previous post here, I will be hosting some fun giveaways for you guys to celebrate my 10 years of crafting here at atelierniSHASHA.

So far, I have three in mind - the Weekend Coupon Codes for the whole month of September (already ongoing), the Year-round Access to all my PDF Sewing Patterns (Three winners), and the 10-hour Coaching Session on Doll Clothes Making (One winner).

Today, I will try to detail what the Coaching Giveaway will be about. As mentioned, one lucky winner gets to win a 10-hour coaching program from yours truly. Anybody whose goal is to design and sew an outfit (can be made of two to five pieces) for their chosen doll can join.

To join, one just needs to create a written entry describing the outfit they want to design and sew and, specify which doll type they want to design for. An entry could be like, "I want Shasha to help me design and sew for a BMR1959 Ken doll's coffee date ensemble. I want him to be comfortable but dashing in a casual blazer, a pullover, chino pants, and a pair of slip-ons".

Where to place your entries? Here - in this very post!

The lucky winner will then work with me in fleshing out their dream doll outfit throughout the 10-hour program. My part is more on helping the winner decide on what garment pieces look best on the doll type they chose, the colors and fabrics to use, and of course to design and produce the patterns for the winner as well as give instructions on how to sew them. Once a piece is done, we will review it together and assess if we need to redo for improvements or move on to the next.

We will do this online so we will be using video conferencing apps like perhaps Google Hangouts (Chat/Meet), Skype, Zoom, or anything that is free and great for the purpose. We will just choose which is best for the winner and me.

The lucky winner and I will discuss what will be the appropriate time and duration for each session, which I recommend will be between 30minutes to an hour. But of course, that depends on what the current situation requires and the time zones. The key here is to work closely together to achieve the goal.

I will be taking in entries via this blog, and from my other social media homes as I announce the details there, starting today September 9 to September 18. I will announce who the lucky winner is on September 19, Sunday (that's my birthday) here at my blog and also on my social media channels. One can join as many times as they want as long as each entry is unique. You got 10 days to decide on that dream doll outfit, my friend!

I sincerely invite you to join because I know that all my readers here in this blog are creative, crafty people who love to style their dolls. Please join the fun by placing your entry below.

I just have a few circumstances for you guys to consider:

1. I can only coach, design, and create patterns for a limited number of doll types. The following are the doll types I currently have in my workshop:
  • Barbie Made to Move Original, Curvy, and Tall
  • Barbie Silkstone (original and non-poseable)
  • Barbie The Barbie Look (similar measurements with Barbie Model Muse/ Barbie Basics)
  • Articulated Ken
  • BMR1959 Ken
  • Fashion Royalty (FR2)
  • NU.Face 2.0
  • Poppy Parker
  • Sekiguchi Momoko
  • Lammily
  • Blythe
2. Final outfit shall comprise two to five pieces only.
3. I live in the Philippines, so please let's consider the best session schedule for both.

I will probably be doing the draw on Instagram Live. I currently have only less than 1,000 YouTube followers so that option is out. Although I have done Facebook Live before, it seems more of you guys are on Instagram so Instagram it is!

As for the Year-round Access to PDF Sewing Patterns giveaway, I will get to the details on it on the last week of the month.

Alright, I think that should be good for now.

I would love if you have additional questions about this giveaway, so we can tighten up the details. I'm so excited to hear what you think about this, as well as see your entries down below!

Thanks so much for dropping by and I hope to see you join the giveaway!

hugs,
shasha

  1. I know this was something I suggested, but I was hesitant to join because I don't think my sewing skills are good enough to make the most of this. However, I've been thinking about this for a while and I've decided to join.
I would like to sew a bikini for a BMR curvy doll (or any MTM curvy doll). For the top of the bikini, I've been thinking about making two triangles that join in the middle and are sewn together with a stripe that goes under the chest. I could draw this piece for further explanation. I would like the bottom part not to be too big . As a third piece, I would like to make a cover up/ lightweight jacket with some fabric that's very light weight or even see through.

I hope this fits the entry requirements. Since a bikini is quite small, I think I could pull it with my limited sewing skills. Plus, Mattel doesn't seem to be willing to sell any swimwear for curvy dolls, so I'll have to make my own!

  2. I'm not sure if this would be enough for me to be considered in this giveaway but I Would love to try.

Shasha, my 8 year old daughter is into barbie made to move (original and curvy). She always asks me to get her some barbie clothes from the mall which we find very costly so I tried to sew some doll clothes by hand out of free patterns from Pinterest and scrap of fabrics from old clothes but the output are not the best fit and quality.

I want to improve my sewing skills to spark more joy for my barbie lover. I hope you can help me. Thanks and happy anniversary!

  3. Hi Sasha, Lisa here I’m lylasdollgallery on IG. I would love to have an opportunity to make my own cocktail/ weeding dress evening gown. A diamond outlined bustier top that has a mini train in the back. With roses that start from the middle of the back where the zipper or closure would be and swoops to the right or left hip. Good luck everyone and thanks for the opportunity!

My favorite styles for my dolls are boho or casual. For this entry I want hip-flared jeans and boho blouse with long sleeves for NuFace girls. And oversized hoodie to quick change the style with the same jeans.

It could be the first thing that I would sew for my integrity dolls😸 Thank you for opportunity and happy anniversary🎉
